I have been a fan of Kung-fu flicks, horror films and high-action
packed thrillers. Action inspires us, ‘kicking the anti-hero’ draws us
… “danger feels great!” It seems to be the new christening. But this
past weekend I came close to acting my own real life thriller; “Fight

This past weekend a follower of my posts asked me, “How do you ignite
creativity in your mind?” Yep, we are all familiar with this one. Even
great writers and ‘creatives’ sometimes battle with it. There is no
true formula I guess, but I will give you a head-start.
Many years ago I was fortunate to come across a Hollywood magazine. Not
many of them used to find their way into the townships. [Laughs] If you

Behaviour problems at home or at school are often reason for concern in
young children. These children are often described as delightful at

the ability to think about and understand the meaning of their
emotional states. Parents need to survive the young child’s emotions
without the parent becoming as overwhelmed and destructive as the
child. Parents and caregivers also need to think about the meaning and
causes of the child’s behaviour. Cathy Urwin wrote a lovely article
(“Where the wild things are”) about this.

So this past week my mind drifted towards ‘thoughts’ –‘ideas’ to be
more precise. How can a simple ‘thought’ make a big difference in the
world? I discovered that a simple change of thought or perspective
towards your surroundings can make an enormous difference. Needless to
say all of the great civilizations came about because a few men dared
to ‘think’ – a simple behaviour we are all familiar with. And they
acted on their ‘ideas’.

This week just thought of talking about the things that hold us back.
Did I say fear? Someone once said we can only go as far as we dream.
And we can. Still most of us are trapped in invisible walls –our fears!
