The caracal had been caught in a gin trap (even though these traps cannot be used without permits in the Western Cape and no permit was issued for this act). Look at the indentation on the limb of the caracal and its eye has popped out of its socket after it was clubbed over the head while in the trap. It then got displayed on a telephone pole on the public road.

When a baby is adopted very early (minutes, hours, days or weeks) after birth - does it really impact on his/her psychological wellbeing?  After all, a baby won’t remember the events. 

Yet, it is important to note that adopted children are at greater risk for later behavioral and emotional problems.  Why would that be?  Is it the issues of the adoptive parents that cause this?

Adoptive parents, like all other parents, have their own issues that can impact on their children.  These issues should be taken seriously, yet it is very important to know that the adoption itself has a profound impact on children.

Seek legal advice before signing a restraint of trade

This week’s reader is a fitter and turner for a major company and he signed a restraint of trade as part of his contract of employment.

He recently received a better offer from a rival company and would like to know if he could be held to the restraint that he had signed, which prohibits him from working for a similar company in South Africa for twenty-four months after leaving his current employer – for whatever reason.

SUB-COMMITTEE FORMED TO INVESTIGATE ALLEGED UNSAVORY INCIDENT AT 2010 STADIUM
A special Sub-Committee comprising of the organizing team, the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality, South African Police Services, Nationwide Security and the Stadium Management has been established to investigate the incident at the Presidential Suite of the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™ host city stadium last Sunday (August 9).
 
The emphasis of the committee’s investigation will be concrete proposals on what must be done to avoid the repetition of such an unfortunate occurrence at the world class facility.

Dismissed before starting new job

After a successful job interview, our reader was offered a position with a company and he subsequently signed a contract of employment.

He gave notice at his current job after accepting the offer. However, before starting in the new position, he was informed that his services were no longer required.

The reader would like to know whether this is fair and what his rights are.
